Not everyone wants a water park.  The City of Sturgis Council, Mayor and Management would have you believe they MUST spend 1.7 million of tax payers money to purchase just the land for this project.  Not true.  The majority of the Sturgis residents do not want any money spent on this project.  On February 8, 2022 the current City Council, Mayor and City Manager agreed to negotiate the land purchase for a possible outdoor water park (see Rapid City Journals story).  If the current City Councils tries to pass this, we will support a petition to put this to a vote of all Sturgis Citizens.
